Melinda Browning
I am a firm advocate for the positive impact of meaningful work on overall health, and much of my career has been focused largely on workplace health. I began my professional journey as a clinical physiotherapist for about 10 years, before transitioning into the fields of occupational health, ergonomics, and safety management. I currently lead a small team in the HSW division whose work includes the prevention of psychological and musculoskeletal injuries, rehabilitation and return to work support, and the UQ Wellness Program.
Rachel Stewart-McLean
My career started in event management before studying health promotion and initially working on community-based health promotion projects for active travel and cancer screening. Securing a role in employee wellbeing was where I found my true interest, as it provided the opportunity to positively influence the health and wellbeing of others’ in the place where they spend much of their time can be very rewarding. In my current role I facilitate the UQ Wellness program which provides wellbeing initiatives for UQ staff, oversees the Wellness Ambassador network and assists in UQ’s efforts as they work towards becoming a health promoting university.
