UQPN is a peer-led network that connects professional staff across all roles, HEW levels, and campuses at UQ to foster collaboration, idea-sharing, and professional development. As a network, we aim to foster:

Through the delivery of programs, events, and networking opportunities, we help to strengthen professional capability, support excellence in key operational areas, and builds resilient networks across the University. UQPN also plays a key role in welcoming and supporting new professional staff, helping them integrate, build confidence, and establish early connections across the Organisation. The network is sustained by strong volunteer engagement, which contributes to leadership development, career progression, and the ongoing strength of the UQ professional community.
UQ Professionals' Network was originally established as an unincorporated entity, governed by a constituion and remained so until 2023. Following signficant consultation with UQ executive leadership, central portfolios, and current and previous UQPN members, the Chief Operating Officer endorsed a proposal to dissolve UQPN as an unincorporated entity, and for the network to be reestablished as a formal part of the UQ Organisational Structure. This endorsed proposal was presented at the Annual General Meeting in August 2023, and was approved via a vote in September 2023.
UQPN now operates within the governance framework of the University of Queensland and is guided by relevant University policies and procedures. The delivery of UQPN's programs, events, and member initiatives is made possible through the dedication of volunteer committee members who collectively form the UQPN General Committee. Strategic oversight and governance are provided by the UQPN Oversight Committee, comprising the President, Vice-President, and volunteer Portfolio Managers, who are responsible for setting direction, monitoring performance, and ensuring alignment with the Network's objectives and University requirements.
