Jennifer Karlson joined UQ in 2017 to lead the University’s first comprehensive philanthropic campaign: “Not if When—the Campaign to Create Change”. Jen is the advisor to UQ’s Vice-Chancellor and President on institutional advancement and community engagement. Her career history spans the US, West Africa and Asia Pacific, including roles with the American Red Cross and the YMCA. Immediately prior to UQ, she served as the Assistant Dean, Advancement for the College of Letters & Science and Senior Director of Development & Strategy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jen believes in the societal and strategic impact of a strong and robust engagement and philanthropic strategy for UQ. Access to and acknowledgement of the role of public education - particularly the tertiary sector - is a personal passion and was the catalyst to establish “The Queensland Commitment”. Jen is deeply proud to serve as the Executive Lead of this new UQ initiative.
Jen looks forward to speaking to you all in person and we encourage you to come down to ModWest and meet some of your UQPN colleagues.
Please note that no food is allowed to be consumed in the room – if you do bring your lunch we can eat out on the veranda after the session.
Please RSVP as soon as you can to let us know you are coming.
About UQPN: A Day in the Life
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to walk in someone else's shoes? Well we have too and that's why we have put together these sessions so you can hear from all sorts of people across the UQ community and what a normal day is like for them. Previous speakers have been a top-tier researcher, executive assistant and the president of the UQPN committee.
