WHY UQPN?
I joined the UQPN to build connections with likeminded professional staff from across the university. I am interested in mentoring other professional staff and being mentored by accomplished professional leaders. UQPN has even given me the chance to be involved in the development of a mentoring program which I am very excited about.
I am a huge foodie so I will be attending all the events that involve food. (Tip – this is a great way to start up a conversation with me at a networking event). I love travelling whether that’s overseas or in our own back yard.
EXPERIENCE
I moved to Brisbane from Ireland in 2009 and have been working in the education sector, spanning both vocational and tertiary education, since 2011. I commenced my first UQ role in 2016 as an Administration Officer (Student Support) and have progressed through various administration, project, and supervisory roles since then. I have built great relationships with my colleagues in the EAIT Faculty and the School of Biomedical Science and I credit my success at UQ to their support and leadership. I am now lucky enough to be able to provide that support and leadership to others. I love leading a team in the achievement of common goals and seeing individuals flourish under my guidance. I enjoy running cross-functional projects and seeing them come to fruition.
