PROFILE

I have studied and/or been employed at UQ Gatton Campus since 1999 and one of best features is its community spirit and willingness to help others.  I believe a Campus-based presence for UQPN and its activities will help support the professional staff and foster the community spirit at Gatton.

EXPERIENCE

I have a background in wildlife science, with a BAppSc Hons (Wildlife Biology) and a MPhil in wildlife nutrition. While completing my MPhil, I was employed by UQ as a Technical Officer from 2009 to 2019 to provide support for wildlife courses and manage the Wildlife Teaching Facility at Gatton Campus.  During this time, I also completed a Graduate Certificate in Captive Vertebrate Management.  My current role is the Technical Services Co-ordinator and I lead the Animal Science Technical Team.  My role involves working with academics and technical staff to enable the delivery of practical classes for a range of foundation science and animal-related courses.

I have developed an interest in more operational and process focussed roles.  I am enjoying the ability to improve my knowledge and experience in these areas with my current role.  Identifying the ideal end result, breaking down the requirements to achievement the end result so that a consistent process can be developed has been strangely satisfying.
