WHY UQPN?

Having worked at UQ’s Gatton Campus for over a decade, I feel really passionately about our small community of Professional staff and have joined in the hope that I can raise the profile of the UQPN at Gatton, encouraging many more members to join. It would be great to expand the network to include some events and activities at the Gatton campus. A goal is to also help promote all the wonderful opportunities available through the UQPN for Gatton staff to engage, network, undertake workshops and develop both personally and professionally.

EXPERIENCE

My working career started in Hospitality, followed by 10 years in Real-estate before making the move from Victoria to sunny Queensland.

In my 12 years at the Gatton Campus, I have undertaken two main roles.

I commenced in a Marketing/Engagement role with a focus on campus events and activities, high school outreach and recruitment as well as supporting Faculty priorities and initiatives.

My current role is the Student Experience Coordinator in the School of Agriculture and Food Sciences.

I am responsible for the smooth, efficient and effective day-to-day operation and delivery of student engagement activities and high-quality student focused activities, including managing the welcome and induction, belonging, leadership and employability and retention for undergraduate and postgraduate students. I love interacting with our students and ensuring they have an enriching experience while at UQ.

I have formed some great working relationships at Gatton and would love to use my experience in engagement and events to help drive the UQPN out here at Gatton.
