WHY UQPN?

Having worked at The University of Queensland for over a decade, I have been a long-time member and advocate of UQPN.  In such a wide-reaching and multidisciplinary organisation, UQPN provides a platform for all professional staff to connect, partner, and foster relationships forging collaborations and mentoring opportunities.  UQPN offers training sessions and events that are developed and aligned to supporting and advancing skill sets for all professional staff.

EXPERIENCE

In my 14 years at UQ, I have worked in executive support roles and administration management within the Institute for Molecular Bioscience and am now privileged to work within the Office of the Vice-Chancellor supporting both the Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Deborah Terry AO and Chancellor, Mr Peter Varghese AO.

I have an extensive administrative background having worked in the higher education sector, legal and medical fields.  I practiced as a nurse for many years prior to taking a break in my career to travel and live overseas, including the South Pacific and USA.

I believe strongly in building a positive culture and fostering inclusivity amongst my peers and colleagues. I feel that UQPN is an important entity within UQ; committed to promoting and aligning UQ values to work together – creativity, excellence, truth, integrity, courage, respect and inclusivity.

It is exciting to forge ahead with new members bringing a fresh perspective, new ideas and raising the profile of UQPN to connect professional staff from all portfolios.
