WHY UQPN?

Only reasonably new to working in higher education for the past 4 years, I have found UQPN most valuable in assisting to develop my network within UQ.   The Annual Conferences I have attended have been a great success, with awe-inspiring speakers, engaging activities, as well as a fantastic opportunity to interact with professional staff who I would never had the pleasure of meeting if I had not joined UQPN.

Outside of work I frequent the gym for an early morning session of cardio, strength training or yoga.  On the weekends I like to shop at the markets for fresh produce.  The rest of my time is spent managing family commitments, spending time with family and friends and listening to music, and podcasts.  I can never have enough music in my life!

EXPERIENCE

I have over 30 years’ experience in administrative roles in various industries including higher education, media and law firms.  I spent many years in the corporate world in both Brisbane and Sydney, with great perks such as fabulous harbour views, luxurious office space and regular catered work functions, however in many cases the company values did not meet mine.

I commenced at UQ in early 2018 as Executive Support Officer in the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences and moved into my current role as Executive Assistant, School of Health and Behavioural Sciences in June 2019.

I really enjoy working at UQ and my role as an EA, it provides the planning, organising and high-volume workload that I thrive on.

I love to learn new things and delight in helping people.
